Charumathi Of Shri Natesan Vidyasala Makes The Country Proud On I-Day

2017 Independence Day was a red-letter day in the history of Shri Natesan Vidyasala MHSS, Mannivakkam. Selvi. T. Charumathi of Class VII, and a team of Indian mountaineers hoisted the Indian National Flag and the school flag of Shri Natesan Vidyasala, atop Mount. Kilimanjaro on 15th August 2017.

It is pertinent to mention that she is the first child under 14 years of age, in the world to scale this peak. The trekking expedition was partially sponsored by the school and by few Corporate houses.

Charumathi, a class 7 student of Shri Natesan Vidyasala gets featured in today's (12-9-17) The Hindu MetroPlus supplementary edition for her mountaineering expedition to Mt.Kilimanjaro First child from India and 3rd in the World to achieve this rare feat under 14 years category.
